This pathway will help bankers to master the process of credit analysis, by combining training in the various best practice tools, with case studies to develop critical analysis skills. It will assist participants to have value adding insightful conversations with their customers. This Advanced Credit Learning Pathway is in line with ANZ’s Commercial strategy. This pathway equips bankers to assess the debt servicing capacity of a client, using a range of financial tools including Cash Flow and Return on Capital. The pathway also examines a range of risk analysis tools and explains how these can be used to develop a risk profile for the client that supports the cash flow analysis and introduces basic techniques of business valuation.
The course has four objectives:
1. apply the range of risk and financial tools to evaluate a credit proposal. The tools include PESTLE, Porter’s Five Forces, the Business Model canvas, Management Capacity, Return on Capital, Cash Flow Analysis;
2. integrate these individual tools to build a risk profile of a client, where you are able to link your risk analysis with the financial metrics;
3. use this analysis to assess your client’s debt servicing capacity. Using your risk analysis you will be able to assess debt servicing risk using key metrics, cash flows and downside scenarios,
4. use your analysis to have value adding, insightful conversations with your client. These will help you better assess client risk, but also provide opportunities for you to be a valued advisor to your client.
Learning Design
• Delivery Details: the program consists of three streams - Risk Analysis, Financial Analysis and Cash Flow and Debt Servicing analysis.
• Activities: each stream has two e-learning modules and virtual workshops.
• Assessment: each stream has a case study assessment requiring a 65% pass mark.
• Volume of Learning: 60 hours
