The MQBS Financial Markets Certificate program is delivered by Macquarie Business School in collaboration with the Australian Financial Markets Association (AFMA). Successful completion of the program provides a key milestone for accreditation by AFMA for financial markets professionals. The program also provides partial credit towards Macquarie Business School’s Graduate Certificate of Finance and, by extension, the Master of Applied Finance (subject to additional entry requirements).
Financial Markets Concepts is the first micro-credential of the MQBS Financial Markets Certificate program. This core micro-credential provides a broad overview of the Australian OTC and exchange-traded markets environment. It introduces financial market sectors, participants, and the economic environment. Key Topics include:
• Introduction to Financial Markets
• The Economic Environment
• Financial Market Analysis.
Participants demonstrated the following Financial Markets Concepts learning outcomes and skills by completing the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) challenge test:
• LO1: Identify the purpose of financial markets in the economy
• LO2: Critically examine the role of participants in the financial markets
• LO3: Interpret the impact of economic indicators and apply these to financial market products
• LO4: Analyse the impact of socioeconomic events and regulatory change on financial markets
• LO5: Demonstrate professional communications skills
Successful completion of this micro-credential through RPL assessment yields 5 MQ credit points at AQF Level 9.
