Finance, Analysis and Modelling MasterTrack®

Designed for the future-focused professional, the Finance, Analysis and Modeling MasterTrack® equips students with the right tools and frameworks to become financially literate and effectively use data to develop insights to synthesise decisions. This MasterTrack® develops financial and data literacies to better understand these fundamental components in every organisation. Students get access to renowned academics and industry leaders and a diverse and professional cohort, as well as premium features including live interactive webinars, staff-graded and moderated assessments, podcasts, and other high-engagement learning activities. Students explore solutions to real-world problems by collaborating with a diverse cohort of students across the globe. Analysing skills are put into practice across finance, accounting, and data all while testing the knowledge students accumulate throughout the four micro-units. Learning Outcomes: • Define the components and the development of financial statements. • Investigate and analyse financial statements in practice. • Apply financial ratios for purposes of understanding and synthesising business position and performance. • Apply a range of management accounting techniques to generate and evaluate complex ideas and concepts to improve decision making. • Explain the role of financial management in assessing the ongoing financial health and performance of organisations. • Explain the use of financial management tools and techniques for financial analysis and modelling. • Use relevant analytical techniques to make informed financial decisions related to financing operations and the valuation of organisations and investment opportunities. • Apply a range of frameworks, approaches, and methods creatively and critically to envision and gain insights into social, environmental and economic megatrends and potential futures. • Devise socially and environmentally sustainable strategies for organisations to address challenges and opportunities. • Develop visualisation and storytelling techniques to persuasively and professionally present findings to a professional/expert audience. • Demonstrate advanced team working and ethical decision-making skills and abilities to collaborate with diverse individuals and stakeholders. • Analyse the concept of customer value and its importance to an organisation. • Explore the types of customer data that are collected, both by traditional and digital methods. • Examine the tools used and determine what works best to solve which problem. • Use customer data to both understand the current situation and develop and drive strategy. • Critically assess various digital and social marketing and their role in creating and measuring value. Delivery Mode: Online Learning Activities: • Self-directed online video lessons, readings, and academic articles • Case studies, peer collaboration, online class exercises • Practice exercises, applied examples, and knowledge check quizzes Assessments: • Quantitative analysis tasks • Written Reports • Team presentation • Case study analyses The volume of learning is 300 hours (75 hours per micro-unit) The four micro-units completed in the Finance, Analysis and Modeling MasterTrack® provide 20 credit points at AQF level 9 and can be credited towards Macquarie Business School’s Global Master of Business Administration degree.
