The MQ Incubator’s Student Pitch Competition provides Macquarie University students with the opportunity to exhibit their communication capabilities in a compelling fashion by presenting their ideas to a diverse spectrum of audiences.
In this competition, students are required to film and submit a 3-minute pitch in one of the following three categories:
• Category 1 - Pitches for Profit: a showcase of ideas that seek to solve a problem and generate revenue for founders and shareholders.
• Category 2 - Pitches for Impact: a showcase of ideas that seek to address a pressing social challenge.
• Category 3 - Best Worst Idea: a showcase of terrible and funny ideas where the finalists share their worst/funny ideas in the best possible way.
The top eight pitches for each category are published online for voting purposes where community voting is undertaken. Assessment is done by an expert judging panel who determines the winner and runner-up for Most Appealing Idea in the Pitches for Profit and Pitches for Impact categories. Macquarie University students also vote for the winner and runner-up for best pitch in all three categories, Pitches for Profit, Pitches for Impact, or Best Worst Idea.
