Commodity Risk Management - Applications (Advanced)

This module explores in detail the application of Risk Management Principles and techniques to these exposures and considers the value of financial hedging tools in these applications. Businesses face a range of exposures which are, increasingly, able to be hedged by financial market instruments. In addition to interest rate exposures, firms can hedge commodity, energy and other exposures. Upon successful completion of this module, participants will be able to: 1. identify and quantify non-financial (i.e. commodity, energy and other physical exposures) risks faced by an organisation able to be hedged by financial products; 2. assess the effectiveness of alternative risk management responses to these risks; and 3. prepare recommendations as to appropriate risk management strategies. Delivery details: • This microcredential is a self-directed online module. • Volume of learning is 10-15 hours. • Learning activities include case studies, videos, and quizzes. Successful completion of the module provides a pathway towards the Advanced Treasury Management unit within the Certificate in Corporate Treasury. The Certificate in Corporate Treasury is a key milestone for accreditation by the Australian Corporate Treasury Association (ACTA) for corporate treasury professionals.
