Risk Management Tools & Techniques (Foundations)

This module explores in detail the financial markets products available to hedge foreign exchange, interest rate and commodity price exposures. Participants will be equipped to understand necessary transactional requirements across the range of derivatives markets. This module is designed to highlight key similarities and differences between the various risk management products and provide an understanding of the functioning of capital markets. Upon successful completion of this module, participants will be able to: 1. understand the range of derivative products available; 2. understand the key characteristics of different derivative products; 3. understand the key market practices and protocols in undertaking derivative transactions; and 4. identify and evaluate the various roles that derivatives play in risk management. Successful completion of the module provides a pathway towards the Foundations of Treasury Management unit within the Certificate in Corporate Treasury.
